How these numbers compare locally

It's worth knowing what the same project costs where you are, so the range above means something.

ProjectIreland, localUK, localThis calculator
Brochure site€300 – €1,500£500 – £1,500the low band
Small business site€1,500 – €7,000£1,500 – £3,000the middle band
Online shop€2,500 – €20,000+£3,000 – £10,000the upper band
Hourly, freelance€30 – €80£25 – £120quoted per project, not per hour

Local figures from published 2026 pricing guides for Ireland and the UK. Agencies sit well above these: a London full-service studio starts around £8,000 and a mid-size agency around £5,000 for the same brief.

I sit well below local freelance rates and far below agencies, and the reason is structural rather than a discount: there is no studio overhead, no account manager and no sales team between you and the person writing the code. It is not a cheaper standard of work — the sites in the portfolio are the standard.

What isn't in the number

Domain and hosting are yours and billed by your provider directly — typically €10–€50 a year for a domain and €50–€500 a year for hosting, depending on what the site needs. I'll set them up and hand over the logins; I don't resell them or mark them up.

Stock photography, if you need it, is quoted separately. So is anything that turns out to need a third-party licence.
